Q&A
What inspired you to pursue this profession?
Working in human resources (HR) gave me a strong foundation in understanding people, building relationships, and helping individuals make important decisions about their careers and futures. I realized I wanted to apply those same skills in a financial capacity—helping clients navigate significant life decisions through personalized financial planning and wealth management. The transition to a financial advisory firm was a natural progression, because both fields are centered on trust, communication, and understanding clients' unique goals. When working in HR, I partnered with employees to solve complex problems, explain benefits, and support long-term career success. In financial advising, I use those same relationship-building and consultative skills to help clients achieve their financial goals and make informed decisions about their future.
What is a lesson you've learned that has shaped your professional approach?
One valuable lesson I’ve learned throughout my career is that you are never done learning. No matter how successful you are, there is always room for growth – embrace it.
What is your favorite travel destination?
I like to travel, and have been to some very interesting places, but my favorite travel destination is New Orleans. I love its amazing food, especially the Cajun and Creole flavors, and you can't beat the delicious beignets! I also enjoy the city's rich musical history as the birthplace of jazz and home to legendary musicians like Louis Armstrong—who, despite the shared last name, is no relation to me!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy morning walks, especially as the sun comes up. It’s quiet and peaceful, and it gives me a chance to clear my mind and prepare for the day ahead.
What’s a fun fact about you?
My dad taught me how to read at the age of 4. I think he did that so I would have something to do other than ask him a million questions!
What’s your go-to coffee order?
I like a good cup of tea. If I get a little bit adventurous and drink a cup of coffee, my go-to coffee order is more cream than coffee, and the coffee must be decaffeinated.
