COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
I spend a lot of time with my family raising money and awareness for breast cancer, my mom being a survivor.
I am a part of a team, Bouncin’ Buckeyes, that participates in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, 60-Mile walk and the Race for the Cure each year in various cities.
I am currently a part of a longitudinal study with the American Cancer Society to discover the long-term effects of environment, food, and behavior and the correlation to breast cancer.
About every 18 months, I cut off and donate my hair to children with hair loss.
Q&A
What do you hope clients remember after working with you?
In my 27th year as a financial adviser, I’ve learned that, above all, people want to know they can trust the person managing their money and that their best interests truly come first. As an independent financial adviser, I value the ability to provide objective, unbiased guidance and put my clients’ needs at the center of every decision.
What part of your work gives you the most satisfaction?
One of the greatest rewards of this career has been the relationships I’ve built with my clients. I’m fortunate to work with multiple generations within many families, and getting to know my clients personally and being part of their lives over the years is what makes this work so meaningful to me.
What is a skill or hobby you've developed outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m always learning, creating, or working on my next project. I’m a home renovator, real estate investor, woodworker, sourdough baker, and, most recently, a budding potter. I love to travel, especially by RV, and I’m always looking forward to the next adventure. My next big trip will be taking my mom on a land-and-sea cruise to Alaska, where we’ll even have the chance to learn to fly-fish.
What is the best advice you've ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received is: “This above all: to thine own self be true.” As I look toward the next chapter of my life, I hope to create a workshop where I can teach girls and young women practical skills and confidence that will serve them throughout their lives.
